Life sculpting from a live model

This project focused on life sculpting and armature building as a means of developing a deeper understanding of human anatomy and anatomical accuracy. Over the course of three days, I sculpted a figure between 20 and 30 cm high, working directly from a live model. The process began with constructing an armature, which was essential for establishing correct proportions, balance, and stability before introducing clay. The stance of the sculpture was dictated entirely by the model’s pose, with particular attention given to weight distribution and natural asymmetry. Using anatomical landmarks as reference points, I gradually built up the form, focusing on accurate muscular structure rather than idealised features. This project strengthened my ability to observe, construct, and refine the human figure within a limited timeframe, while maintaining structural and anatomical clarity.
